This week in:
Religion: We are learning about the Lord's Prayer and its meaning.
ELA: Letter y, consenant review
Weekly routines include: Printing, Journal Writing, Writer's Workshop, Spelling Practice, Home Reading 
Math: Grade 1s are working with numbers 11-20.  Grade 2s are working with hundred charts.
Social Studies: We are wrapping up our unit on rules and responsibilities at school, home and in the community.
Science: We are finishing our unit about solids, liquids and gases.
French: We are working on basic greetings and items in the classroom.
Health: We are focusing on healthy eating habits.

Science: We are conducting experiments to investigate gases.
French: We are working on basic greetings and items in the classroom.

We survived the snake trip!  Thank you to all the parents that helped drive and supervise the trip.  Everyone (even the shy moms) touched and held the snakes.  It was a great trip.  



This week in:
Religion: We are learning about prayer. 
ELA: We are working on short vowel sounds.  We have done some writing, and are bringing home daily reading books.  Spelling words will start coming home next week.
Math: We are just finishing the pattern unit with some pattern problems and projects.  We will begin numbers next.
Social Studies: We are learning about important parts of school: routines, rules, and people at school.
Science: We are conducting experiments to investigate solids and liquids.
French: We are working on basic greetings and items in the classroom.
Health: We are doing a couple of experiments on germs & handwashing.

Most of the first week has been spent getting to know one another and the classroom routines.  It has been a lot of fun!
Each week I will post the topics which we are working on in the classroom.  I will also include some homework and reminders.
This week in:
Religion: We are learning about prayer. 
ELA: We are reviewing ABCs and are practicing printing.  We have done some writing, and are beginning to bring home reading books.
Math: Both grades are learning about sorting and patterning.  We have sorted a number of different objects in the classroom and built patterns using those objects.
Social Studies: We have started talking about things that make us important.
Science: We are just beginning to learn about solids and liquids...watch for small homework tasks.
French: Will begin next week.
Health: What makes me healthy?
