I hope that everyone enjoyed a great Spring Break! It is finally beginning to look like Spring outside! Rubber boots are definitely a must for the playground area!
Science
We recently began a science unit about Materials. So far we have enjoyed learning about the difference between an object and the material it is made from. Next we will be working on the function of objects and how their materials are chosen to make the object efficient.
Social Studies / Language - writing
Our next writing project will be integrated together with a social studies unit. We will be learning about various parts of Canada by writing to our relatives that live in other cities. To start the project we read the Flat Stanley book. We now are going to create our own flat people to send in our letters to our relatives. Watch for further information, and flat people coming home!
Agendas / Reading Logs
These two items are still part of our daily routines! It is important to teach students organizational skills and responsibility at an early age. I feel that these two tools help with that process. Thank you to those of you that do use them consistently! I hope to see everyone using them for the final term of this year!
