Spelling – Week #28 – Test Friday
Reading Record – May – Back by popular demand – READO
The students have said this was their favourite reading incentive so we will try it again, only a with a different READO card. Students reading chapter books can do these activities in addition to their chapter book reading, or instead of it. I have books in the classroom by many of the authors listed, but they can also be found on your trip to the library! Enjoy! (READO cards will be sent home Tuesday)
Family Tree: Thank you for helping with the family tree projects. Presentations have been great! It’s so wonderful to see the kids taking ownership of their assignments and sharing their learning with their peers.

Dear Grade 1/2 Parents,
Spelling – Week #27 – Test Friday
Reading Record – April – Students are expected to read everyday. There is not a reading record for the month of April. Instead, students need to complete one reading response sheet each week. There are six response questions to choose from. The sheet can be completed using any story book or chapter book.
Green page: Due on April 10
Purple Page: Due on April 16
Yellow Page: Due on April 23
Blue Page: Due on April 30
Earth Day: Today we took garbage bags out to our school grounds and helped clean up the field.
Spring Tea: We are reading Alice in Wonderland in preperation for the Spring Tea on Saturday. We will be making Mad Hatter hats in class as well as themed artwork.
Family Tree: Thank you for helping with the family tree projects. I look forward to the students presenting them throughout the week.

Reading Record – April – Students are expected to read everyday. There is not a reading record for the month of April. Instead, students need to complete one reading response sheet each week. There are six response questions to choose from. The sheet can be completed using any story book or chapter book.
Green page: Due on April 10
Purple Page: Due on April 16
Yellow Page: Due on April 23
Family Tree: Family trees will be due on Monday, April 23. Please disregard the original due date, Friday, April 20.
The project can be completed as a poster, 3D model, or any other creative way you have in mind.
Please include the names and relation of the people on the tree. Date of birth, place of birth etc. are optional.

Dear Grade 1/2 Parents,
Spelling – Week #24 – Test Thursday
Report Card Envelopes – After you have read the report card, which will be sent home on Wednesday, please sign the envelope and return it to school. You are welcome to email, call, or schedule an appointment to discuss questions or concerns that you may have about your child’s progress.
Reading Record – April – Students are expected to read everyday. There is not a reading record for the month of April. Instead, students need to complete one reading response sheet each week. There are six response questions to choose from. The sheet can be completed using any story book or chapter book. The sheet sent home today is green. It is due on April 10.
The March READO challenge was not completed by all students. Finished sheets were due today. We are undergoing ‘negotiations’ for the class party that was previously discussed.
