Weekly News

Caterpillars

If you haven’t already stopped in to see our caterpillars please do so.  We are learning about Life Cycles in Science class.  The caterpillars will soon begin building their chrysalises and then we will have butterflies in the classroom!  If anyone has a small empty aquarium with a lid we would love to borrow it for a couple weeks to house the butterflies in.

Aviation Museum

The students thoroughly enjoyed our field trip to the Aviation Museum this morning.  We learned a lot of interesting things about Position and Motion.  We got to sit in an old aircraft (it even had ashtrays!).  We also built cars with lego to show that we could hold a load while travelling down an inclined plane.  Thank you to all the volunteers who joined us.

Evening of the Arts

All Grade 1/2 students will be performing violin at Evening of the Arts.  Students need to make sure they have their violin with them or at school that evening.  Students who have been practicing Jump Rope will also perform and require proper footwear for jumping.  Please let me know if you won’t be able to make it that night.

Jump Rope for Heart

Students who would like to perform jump rope at the Evening of the Arts will practice during lunch recess on Wednesdays this month.  Donation envelopes were sent home with all students last week.  The envelopes are due back at school on May 28th.
