MBCI Performance
Last week MBCI brought their concert band and choir to our school to do a schort concert. Our class enjoyed listening to familiar and new songs. We even won a couple prizes for our knowledge of different instruments. It was a great opportunity to see some different musical art forms.
Math
Both the grade ones and twos are working on various strategies for addition and subtraction. Grade ones are using ten frames, among other manipulatives to work out number problems. Grade twos are using a wide variety of strategies to solve double digit number problems. One of the concepts we are trying to master is using ‘tens’ and ‘ones’. One of the best ways to prepare your child for school in the fall is to keep them reading all summer long. Reading is like any other skill in that it needs consistent daily practice.
