Pumpkin Week!

Friday

Students are welcome to bring a costume to wear in the afternoon on Friday.
There are just a few guidelines for this occasion:
- no scary costumes
- no blood, guts, weapons
- students can't wear a mask (they can bring it to show)
- students need to be able to put on the costume on their own

The students have requested to bring in food for this event.  If you would like to send in a finger food snack please remember that we have nut allergies in our classroom.  Small items like mini cupcakes, cookies, rice Krispie squares or Halloween candy are ideal.

Grade 2 French

Students are playing a student led game of french colour bingo.  These grade 2 students have mastered their french colours!

We also wrote our own colour books, in French.

Grade 2 math

Grade 2s are working on estimation right now.  Here they estimated the number of blocks in a pile.  To count, we organized the pieces using ten frames.  This is helping us solidify our understanding of making numbers using tens and ones.

Social Studies

This week we are working to learn the words: Urban, Rural and Suburban.  We made a booklet to help us keep the characteristics of each type of community straight.

We have also been talking about important places in our community.  Each student completed a page for our class book.

Have a great week!
